Monday 20 December:
Arnhem - Düsseldorf
You are welcome on board the Rembrandt van Rijn, decked out completely for Christmas, from 08:00. We will raise the anchor at 09:30 and set sail for Düsseldorf where we will arrive during the evening. The crew will introduce themselves on the way and you can meet your fellow passengers. The musician who is on board for the entire tour will add a Christmas touch in the lounge.
Tuesday 21 December:
Düsseldorf - Andernach
Düsseldorf is a wonderful city for Christmas shopping. The whole centre is beautifully decorated during this season. You will have time before lunch to visit the lively Christmas markets and shops that are open in the morning. In the afternoon we continue our journey to Andernach and High Tea will be served in the lounge.
Wednesday 22 December:
Andernach - Boppard
Andernach is also getting ready for the festive season. Christmas lights decorate this Celtic stronghold. The historic shopping streets are filled with Christmas cheer. There is a real-life nativity scene in the market place. After leaving Andernach we move on to the part of the river known as the Romantic Rhine. Many fortresses and castles adorn the hilly, wooded surroundings of the Rhine. We will arrive in the wine town of Boppard at the end of the afternoon.
Thursday 23 December:
Boppard - Rüdesheim
We will pass the famous Lorelei at around coffee time. You will have a wonderful view of this 132 metre high rock from the ship. We will spend the afternoon in Rüdesheim, a popular tourist centre. This wine town has plenty to offer, including the Niederwalddenkmal monument and the world-famous Drosselgasse. A walk along this lively street should not be missed during your visit to Rüdesheim. You can sign up on board in Rüdesheim for an excursion(*) to Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet, which houses the largest collection of working mechanical musical instruments in the world.
Friday 24 December:
Rüdesheim - Koblenz
During the morning we once again pass by the Lorelei and we will moor at Koblenz during lunch. We will spend Christmas Eve here and you will have the opportunity to attend Mass at a nearby church. To mark this special evening a midnight snack buffet will be provided later in the evening.
Saturday 25 December:
Koblenz - Bonn
Today everything revolves around Christmas. While you are looking round the nearby centre of Bonn, the kitchen team will be busy preparing a delicious Christmas Dinner. To enhance the Christmas spirit, the wearing of festive clothes will be encouraged.
Sunday 26 December:
Bonn - Cologne
We will arrive in Cologne after a champagne brunch. A visit to the Cologne Dom (Cathedral) is one of the many possibilities for spending the afternoon in this metropolis. There will be a sparkling farewell meal in the evening.
Monday 27 December:
Cologne - Arnhem
We leave this cathedral city early and sail towards Arnhem where we will take our leave of you at 14:00. You will have lasting memories of this amazing Christmas holiday.
