Tuesday:
Wijk bij Duurstede - Lelystad
After breakfast, the busses in front of the ship are ready for the excursion(*) to Utrecht. Meanwhile, the ship is sailing towards Lelystad. Towards the end of the morning the ship arrives in Utrecht and as soon as everyone is back on board we sail over the Amsterdam Rijnkanaal and the IJsselmeer to Lelystad.
Wednesday:
Lelystad - Hasselt - Zwolle
In the morning you can visit the Bataviawerf on your own or hunt for bargains in Batavia Stad. During lunch we set course for Hasselt, the first of six Hanseatic cities that we visit on this trip. This special Hanseatic town on the Black Water is full of beautifully restored buildings, such as the old town hall, the large church and the unique lime burners, which transport you to times long gone. At the beginning of the evening we leave Hasselt behind us and sail to Zwolle.
Thursday:
Zwolle - Kampen - Deventer
There is a lively atmosphere in the streets of the medieval city centre of Zwolle. Lovers of literature can indulge themselves and visit one of the most beautiful bookshops in the Netherlands; Van der Velde in de Broeren. Don't spend too long browsing the many bookshelves, because around noon we leave for Kampen. The Stadsbrug, the impressive gates and the hundreds of monuments give this city an authentic character. At the end of the afternoon we continue our way over the winding IJssel to Deventer.
Friday:
Deventer - Zutphen
Deventer embraces you with its historic charm and has a lot to offer. The Toy Museum, the Grote of Lebuïnus Church with its imposing tower and the beautiful historic town hall complex are just a few examples of this. During lunch we sail to Zutphen. Tower city, as Zutphen is also called. In addition to a few large towers that form the skyline of the city, there are also numerous smaller towers.
Saturday:
Zutphen - Doesburg - Arnhem
We left early to visit Doesburg, the last Hanseatic city of this trip. More than 150 monuments embellish the historic city centre and in the old fortress you will find a unique factory, the Doesburgsche Mosterd and Vinegar Factory. Because Doesburg is known as Mustard City and the locals are very fond of their jar of mustard. That is probably why they are also called Mustard pots. At 11.30 am we expect you back on board and we start the last part of this journey. At 2pm we moor in Arnhem, which means that this beautiful journey has come to an end.
