Wednesday:
Rotterdam - Gouda
From 4pm we welcome you on board in Rotterdam. As soon as everyone is on board, we cast off and set course for Gouda. After dinner you can take a walk in the city centre.
Thursday:
Gouda - New Meersluis - Zaandam
This morning we stay in Gouda. In the city centre on the market square is the beautiful town hall. The cheese market takes place here in the summer. Gouda is also known for its candles and delicious stroopwafels. In the afternoon we sail through the beautiful nature reserves of the Netherlands called the Green Heart. After a delay of several hours at the Nieuwe Meersluis, we will sail in convoy through Amsterdam tonight and continue our way to Zaandam where we will moor halfway through the night.
Friday:
Zaandam - Enkhuizen
After breakfast the buses are ready for an excursion to Keukenhof(*). The flower gardens in Keukenhof are a true spring festival; with 7 million bulbous flowers on 32 hectares, the entire park is dominated by fantastic scents and colours. You can walk along and through the beautifully landscaped gardens and water features and enjoy the beautiful flowers. As soon as the participants of the excursion are back on board, we will sail on to Enkhuizen. The ramparts in the fishing village dating from the 17th century are well preserved. The Drommedaris is the southern gateway to the city of Enkhuizen and also the most famous building.
Saturday:
Enkhuizen - Oudeschild (Texel)
We follow the IJsselmeer coast to the north and via Den Oever we cross the Wadden Sea to Texel where we arrive in Oudeschild after lunch. Here you will find the Maritime Museum Kaap Skil. In this open-air museum, beachcombers tell their stories and you learn a lot about the history of Texel and the fishing village of Oudeschild.
Sunday:
Oudeschild (Texel) - Harlingen - Makkum
We leave Oudeschild early and cross the Wadden Sea again. With a bit of luck we will see some seals resting on a sandbank along the way. During lunch we arrive in the Frisian town of Harlingen. Due to its favourable location by the sea, Harlingen grew into an important port city. The beautifully restored warehouses on the harbours still bear witness to trade with exotic countries. At the end of the afternoon we continue our journey to Makkum where we will spend the night.
Monday:
Makkum - Hoorn
In the morning we sail to Hoorn. This lively port city on the IJsselmeer is home to many sights from the rich VOC past. In the beautiful monumental buildings you can now find various nice shops, restaurants and museums.
Tuesday:
Hoorn - Dordrecht
Before breakfast we cast off the mooring lines and sail to Dordrecht. You can discover this city very well on foot. For example, follow the 'Rondje Dordt', a signposted walk along the inner city harbours, important historic sites and attractive shopping streets. Or sail through the old harbours in a whisper boat that passes houses built in the water, dark vistas and colossal warehouses.
Wednesday:
Dordrecht-Rotterdam
The last day of this colourful and interesting journey has already arrived. We moor in Rotterdam at approximately 10am and then it is time to say goodbye to you.
