Belgium at its Best

Belgium, our exuberant southern neighbour, has a few beautiful pearls of cities! During this 11-day trip we visit authentic cities such as Antwerp, Liège, Namur and Dinant. Countless sights, museums, nice shopping streets and cafes where you can enjoy a Belgian pint. But Belgium also has a lot to offer in terms of nature. Our final destination Dinant is located in the middle of the green, hilly Ardennes through which the river Meuse meanders.

Thursday, June 22: Arnhem-Willemstad

We leave Arnhem at 09:30 and it doesn't take long before we turn up at the Pannerdense Kop onto the river Waal. In the lounge, the crew will be introduced to you and you can get to know your fellow passengers. During dinner we arrive in Willemstad where you can take a nice evening walk through the historic city centre.

Friday, June 23: Willemstad - Antwerp

Antwerp is full of interesting sights and museums! A visit to the famous Cathedral of Our Lady, the Begijnhof or the Diamond Museum is definitely worth it. It is also a city perfect for shopping. You will find various shops such as boutiques, bonbon shops and diamond shops. On board you can register for a bus tour(*) that will drop you off in the centre after the tour.

Saturday, June 24: Antwerp - Hasselt

We continue our journey through Belgium via the Albert Canal. After lunch we arrive in Hasselt. This city also has the nickname 'Capital of Taste' and owes this to its many catering and fashion stores. Did you know that Jenever (Gin) and Hasselt are inextricably linked? You will also find the Jenever (Gin) Museum in the middle of the city.

Sunday, June 25: Hasselt - Liège

Our next destination, Liège, is located in French-speaking Wallonia. This city was known for the metal industry in the last century. The centre is home to surprisingly many nice, often car-free streets and pleasant squares. Don't forget to treat yourself to a delicious freshly baked Liège waffle.

Monday, June 26: Liège - Namur

Early on we cast off the mooring lines. We are now on the Meuse. After lunch we arrive in the capital of Wallonia, Namur. The nice medieval centre is located at the foot of the citadel, where the river Sambre flows into the Meuse. This afternoon you can participate in a city walk (*) that you can book on board.

Tuesday, June 27: Namur - Dinant

The city of Dinant is beautifully enclosed between the Meuse and the surrounding hilly landscape of the Ardennes. The history of the city goes back to long before Roman times. The city played an important role in the defence of the Meuse. The citadel of Dinant is still living proof of this. You can explore this city on your own this afternoon. In the centre, try one of the local specialties such as Dinantse Koek or a delicious Leffe beer.

Wednesday, June 28: Dinant - Huy

In the afternoon we arrive in Huy, one of the oldest cities in Belgium. The fort of Huy, built in 1823, is also known as the Dutch Fortress and is located on a protruding rock along the Meuse.

Thursday, June 29: Huy - Maastricht

After lunch we arrive in Maastricht. This afternoon you can explore the centre of Maastricht on your own. This consists almost entirely of old buildings with beautiful facades and there are plenty of terraces and shops. Many shops in the city centre are also open on Sundays. In the evening you can possibly participate in a tour(*) through Maastricht.

Friday, June 30: Maastricht - Roermond

While you enjoy breakfast, we head out on the river Meuse. At the beginning of the afternoon we arrive at our destination, Roermond. This atmospheric city, also known as the 'Bubbling heart of Limburg', is rich in cultural attractions. On board you can sign up for a tour(*) through the area.

Saturday, July 1: Roermond - Cuijk

This morning we enjoy the surroundings of North Limburg while sailing. After lunch we arrive in Cuijk. In the afternoon you can visit the Brabant town on your own. Traditionally, the Captains Dinner is served on the last evening, followed by a musician providing an entertaining evening.

Sunday, July 2: Cuijk - Arnhem

This wonderful journey through the Netherlands and Belgium is almost over. At 2pm we will lay out the gangway for you in Arnhem and it is time to say goodbye.

  • Welcome cocktail
  • Various excursion opportunities (not included)
  • Two evenings with live music
  • Captains Dinner
